I hope so. Cause I’d absolutely love to meet you.
Would you please come on over to one of our meetings?
I promise that 5 minutes into the meeting you will already breathe easier, and not just because of the brief breathing exercise (pssst — if you hate breathing exercises, no fear, you don’t have to do it, you can totally just sit there and think about your grocery list, by the time you’ll be done with the produce aisle we’ll be done with the breathing and back to the talking). So would you please go ahead and mark your calendar? Tuesday, October 5th 11:45 am to 1:00 pm, and every first and third Tuesday of the month thereafter.
Can’t make it? Scroll down!

Which brings us to the * by the word bed* up there: I’ve been there. Too sick to get out of bed. Had to stop and rest on the floor on my way to the bathroom. Cry in the bathroom. And then rest on the floor again on my way back to bed. It was the most painful experience ever. And I’m better now. I’m not that special, really. It’s all about the ideas and the skills I learned. If I could do it, you can to. I’ll be sharing those goodies at each Recovery Speakeasy. You won’t even have to say a single word to get compassion and ideas and support).
When?
I’m shooting for mid-November*.
(This weekend I’ll figure out the whole mailing list/email server technical stuff. Untill then please use your email regular program to send me a regular email and I’ll put you on the list. (Your email will never EVER be shared, your privacy is safe here.)
*Another purple star? Yes. I like purple stars, I use them to point out important useful things. Get used to them, they are good for you.
If you hate purple or stars or both, or hate when people tell you to get used to things because they are good for you, I am sorry to be so obnoxious. I am, sometimes. I wish I wasn’t, but I can’t help it, because I’m human. And I’ve made peace with the inevitable imperfectness involved. This means that if we ever meet in person (please come to a meeting), or online (email me, comment, please share a link to your blog if you have one) and you’ll do something I find obnoxious, I’ll give you the benefit of the doubt.
If mid-November sounds like next millennium, and you are in terrible pain, or are so numb that you might as well be done with everything (not true! it’s the ppbeast talking, not the real you) call one of these hotlines today:
National Suicide Prevention Lifeline: 1-800-273-TALK (8255)
Suicide hotline, 24/7 free and confidential, nationwide network of crisis centers.
I used to volunteer at the one here in Ithaca. Trained counselors with compassion and resources are always waiting for your call. By the way, you don’t even have to tell them your name.
